What I believe
Every student in Alamance County deserves a strong education that prepares them for college, careers, and life—no matter their zip code, background, or learning needs.
Why it matters
When students don’t get the support they need, it shows up in test scores, graduation rates, and in their confidence. Families feel it too. Our schools should be places where every child is challenged, encouraged, and given real opportunities to succeed.
As a board member, I will work to:
I will make sure classrooms have the materials and support students need to learn and focus on early literacy and strong foundations in reading and math. I will support programs that help students who are struggling get back on track while backing opportunities for advanced coursework, CTE, and enrichment. I will use data to understand what works.
SUPPORTING EDUCATORS
What I believe
Great schools depend on great teachers and staff—and they deserve to be respected, heard, and supported.
Why it matters
When we lose good educators to burnout or better offers elsewhere, our students lose too. Recruiting and keeping strong teachers, bus drivers, assistants, and support staff is one of the most important things we can do for our schools.
As a board member, I will work to:
My commitment involves pushing for fair compensation and benefits locally while maintaining manageable group sizes and duties for our personnel. I plan to equip instructors with essential resources and professional development time while seeking their input on key policies. By cutting through administrative hurdles, I will prioritize classroom needs.
RESPONSIBLE LEADERSHIP
What I believe
Families, educators, and taxpayers deserve honest communication and careful stewardship of every public dollar.
Why it matters
Trust in ABSS has been shaken in recent years. Rebuilding that trust will take time, transparency, and a clear focus on students—not politics or personal agendas.
As a board member, I will work to:
I will ask tough questions and insist on clear, accurate information while making budget decisions that put student learning and safety first. I will communicate openly with the community about challenges and progress. I will support long-term planning instead of short-term fixes and treat every decision as a chance to rebuild trust.
SAFE & SUPPORTIVE SCHOOLS
What I believe
Students and staff should feel safe, respected, and supported every day they walk into an ABSS school.
Why it matters
Learning is hard when students are worried about safety, bullying, or chaos in the classroom. Teachers can’t teach their best when they’re constantly managing crises. Safe, calm, and caring schools help everyone—students, educators, and families—do their best work.
As a board member, I will work to:
I will support clear, consistent discipline policies that are fair and transparent and back efforts to reduce bullying and harassment in all forms. I will strengthen mental health and counseling supports for students and make sure safety plans are up to date. I will listen to students and families about what they are seeing in their schools.
